Who can carry out observations
All staff should be encouraged to carry out regular observations, this will help to gain confidence and after a while you will find that observations will become part of your routine. It is important to remember that anybody can observe, observing simply requires that you do or have the following:
- Good eyes and ears
- A notepad or observation sheet to record what you “See and Hear”
- The ability to Identify area of focus
- Time (most observations will last between 5 and 15 minutes)
