Ofsted Registers
1. Early Years Register - Compulsory
Compulsory if you care for children from birth to the 31st August following their fifth birthday
2. Ofsted Childcare Register (OCR) - Compulsory
Compulsory if you care for 6 - 7 year olds
3. Ofsted Childcare Register (OCR) - Voluntary
This is voluntary for providers who care for children over 8 or who are exempt form registration.
Most, if not all, After School Clubs and Holiday Play Schemes will be registered on the Early Years Register and the compulsory part of the OCR, and will also be offered to register on the voluntary part of the OCR.
