Early Years Foundation Stage
Although out of school providers who look after 4 and 5 year olds will be inspected around the EYFS, they are not expected to deliver the full offer and are not classed as the “primary setting”. This is because the child would have received the full framework during their school day.
Therefore, it will be the schools responsibility as the “primary setting” to complete a full assessment on each child and to share relevant information with you about the children. You are however, encouraged to give feedback to the school of any information/observations you have made.
This new “partnership” requirement will enable you as the provider to be better equipped when supporting the younger children and will also allow you to work closely with the school and teachers.
