Financial Support for Out of School
The Early Years, Childcare and Play Section wish to commission services supporting three main areas of work with the overall aim to improve the provision of out of school childcare. The three areas are:
This commissioning process is targeted specifically at Out of School provision which is defined as childcare for those attending full time school up to 14 years of age (16 with special needs), it does not include activity sessions unless part of structured childcare provision. Essential characteristics of this childcare is that it operates every day either in term time or school holidays (or both) and allows parent/carers to access work or training etc, it does not include one off or once/twice a week activities.
